Fairy Tale-kalinity

Fairy Tale Kalinity

By Tracy Lawrence

Once upon a time in a land not so far away, a defiant child named pH was born, and a new mother dreamed of the great things her sweet baby would accomplish.

Time passed and it became apparent that young pH was an easily influenced child.  Naturally, this gave pH’s mom cause for worry.  She knew, as she watched pH mingle on the playground, that there would come a time when she would not be right there to offer correction, wisdom and guidance.  What would become of her wild child if pH gave in to peer pressure?  Would she be able to keep pH under control?

One day at the playground, pH made a new friend,  Elevated Alkalinity. pH looked up to Elevated Alkalinity: always so cool, and sadly,  always high.  It wasn’t long before pH was  also getting high. Soon, pH was out of control: out all night and all day causing trouble, and in time,  pH was caught leaving graffiti on the walls, the equipment, and all over the playground.

pH crawled back to mom in shame.  In stereotypical, maternal fashion, she offered a lecture, then threw her arms into the air and shouted,

“If Alkalinity jumped off a bridge, would you follow!?”

Mom forbid pH from getting high, did everything she could to help pH adjust and live a safer, happier life.  She also insisted pH stop hanging around with the likes of Elevated Alkalinity.

Young pH vowed to follow mom’s advice.  But it wasn’t long before pH met Low Alkalinity.  pH tried to resist temptation, but low alkalinity was so cool and pH wanted to be cool, too. pH got caught in a downward spiral.  It wasn’t long before pH’s mere presence on the playground made everyone uncomfortable.  Things got really bad when pH hit an all-time low and took up vandalizing.

Mom came to realize that as hard as she tried to adjust her child’s behavior, whenever she turned her back, pH would cave to the influence of friends because that is pH’s nature.   She hoped and prayed pH would learn.

Then she had an idea,

“All pH needs is a perfect role model!”

Mom had a plan.  She introduced pH to Balanced Alkalinity.  Balanced Alkalinity was different than the others.  Balanced Alkalinity was perfect.  pH and Balanced Alkalinity became fast friends, hand in hand, skipping straight down the middle of the playground: no more graffiti, no more getting high, no more vandalism, and together they brought joy and laughter to everyone in their presence.  And,

They all lived happily ever after.

THE END

The Moral of this story:

There is all kinds of trouble you can get into at the playground (pool) if you don’t protect yourself from bad influences (unbalanced Alkalinity):  graffiti (scale), vandalism (corrosion), and irritation to all the kids at the playground (swimmers).  You can live happily ever after (perfect water chemistry), too, with a little help from your mom (DesRochers Backyard Pools)

Have you had your water tested lately?  Come see us and we can introduce Balanced Alkalinity to your pH – and you and your pool can live happily ever after……well, at least in between water tests.
