The Idioms Guide to Spa Maintenance

by Tracy Lawrence

When I was a kid, my mother used to say things like, “This is going to be as easy as one, two, three!”  Or “Easy as pie!” That pie thing never really made all that much sense, especially after attempting to bake my first pie.  Perhaps she meant eating the pie was easy?  So many questions left unanswered in the riddles of childhood idioms.

But this trip down memory lane is distracting me from my goal today: helping you to maintain your hot tub.  But since I brought up mom’s wisdom on things that can be easy, I’d like to talk about a way to really make hot tub maintenance as easy as eating pie because baking is all sorts of steps and quite messy.  No room for messes in hot tub maintenance, and the fewer steps the better!  What I’m about to talk about really is as easy as One, two…..TRIO!  See how I switched that up?  Feeling quite clever this morning.

BioGuard makes a great product called Trio. To summarize, it really IS as easy 1-2-3.  Three steps.  And I’m not talking about 3 giant steps in one day.  I’m talking baby steps, taken over time:

            1- throw in this packet.

2- once a week throw in one of these packets.

3- when you run out of step 2 packets, toss in this last packet, drain and refill.

Do you even care what each of these packets does?  You really don’t have to.  But it’s my job to know, and I’d be happy to share my wisdom on the steps you will avoid when caring for your spa with Trio: what is in those packets, how they work, and…..  But if you’d rather save time that can be spent enjoying your tub?  Toss in the right packet and you’re in business!

Of course, your spa will need sanitation, and you have options.  But [taking a moment to clear the frog in my throat] listen carefully.  We have something for that!  It’s called a “Flippin Frog.”  ALL you have to do is toss it in your spa and BAM!  Sanitized.  Seriously.  Piece of cake (here we go again).  I know what you’re thinking.  How do you know when your flippin’ frog is not effectively sanitizing your spa!?  This is really exciting.  Like the name implies, IT FLIPS!

I do feel the need to put out the disclaimer that though the name suggests it looks like a frog, it’s actually a tasteful little ball that floats in the waters of your spa, you will hardly notice it’s even there.

Stop into any of our stores and we can set you up.  Don’t forget to bring your water sample!

And while we’re on the subject of mothers and their wisdom, have you called yours lately?

Tell your mom hello from all of us here at BYP, and happy soaking!
